A CHRISTIAN WOMAN’S PRIORITIES…

I like when blog posts just jump to the good stuff and don’t fill the screen with a lot of fluff, so let’s do just that.

ABSOLUTES.

There are some priorities that a CHRISTIAN woman must be focused on, do, be tuned into, etc. OTHERWISE…she isn’t a true believer. That may sting but I’ll provide Scripture along the way. Just keep in mind that while we are perfectly JUSTIFIED (forgiven fully before the Father) we are still and always will be being SANCTIFIED (As long as we’re living in this life, the Spirit produces good fruit in us.- making us more and more Holy, as He is Holy.) Point? Obedience is not always done PERFECTLY but a true Christian will be striving, seeking, repenting, and continuing to OBEY the Lord, His Word. ❤

SPENDING TIME WITH GOD.

A Christian woman’s MAIN FOCUS is GOD. She should be in her Bible and in Prayer – daily. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY ONE WHO SAYS IT’S ONLY BEING A “SUPER-CHRISTIAN” TO SPEND HOURS IN PRAYER AND IN THE WORD. This is foolishness coming from a believer.

We can spend hours watching a movie or talking on the phone or going to a park.

We can ABSOLUTELY give time to being in the Word and in to prayer. We cannot know God’s will – which is to be sanctified, ultimately if we’re not in His Word. It is literally our weapon – our sword. It cuts the flesh, it gives haste to avoiding satan and the world’s temptations, and it equips us to reach the lost.

If being in the WORD and in PRAYER is not something you want to do, please go speak to your Pastor or an older Christian. Paul tells us in Corinthians to “examine yourself” to see if you’re truly in the faith. Being in Christ changes you. There should be a desire to be in His Word in growing in prayer. Not by your own strength but by Christ in you.

Being in the WORD and in Prayer – then OBEYING Christ IS BEING A CHRISTIAN.

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

1 John 5:1-21

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? …

Matthew 6:6

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (WHEN you pray, not IF you pray.)

EVANGELISM: SPREADING THE GOSPEL.

This is also an absolute for any and all Christians.

Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

SERVING IN A LOCAL CHURCH BODY

Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Acts 2:42-47

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, …

We must be serving in a local church body. There are so many reasons for this. We need to be meeting with other believers, being taught sound doctrine from a qualified Pastor and Elders, and we need to be using our individual gifts (as we make up the BODY of Christ together) to advance the Kingdom.

Lay excuses aside. Find a church. Serve. Learn. Pray together. Worship the Lord with one another. LOVE TOGETHER BIBLICALLY.

HERE’S OTHER PRIORITIES THAT NEED LISTING. (some may not apply to you currently)

  • Submitting to your husband, as unto the Lord.
  • Teaching your children the Word of God and modeling it in your Home.
  • Being hospitable. Opening your home to others and blessing others with what God has blessed you with.
  • Taking care of your body – for God’s glory.
  • Giving to the church and to others in need.
  • If older, obeying Titus 2 and specifically pouring into younger women.
  • If younger, obeying Titus 2 and specifically being taught by older women.
  • HELPING your husband, not harming him.
  • Keeping a home that brings honor to the Lord and to your husband.
  • Discipling your children, Biblically.
  • Live at peace with others.
  • Be zealous for God’s Word.
  • Being good stewards of your finances.
  • Displaying Modesty, Lovely Femininity, and Virtue.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

THE CHIEF END OF WOMAN IS TO GIVE GOD GLORY AND ENJOY HIM FOREVER.

As a new creation in Christ, we are to be Holy as He is Holy. THIS IS OUR PRIORITY.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body In holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

  • Kill the flesh. Resist the Devil. Do not conform to the world.
  • BE IN THE WORD OF GOD AND IN PRAYER AS IF IT WERE LITERAL OXYGEN THAT YOU NEED IN ORDER TO BREATHE.
  • BE HUMBLE.
  • REPENT.
  • SEEK CHRIST.
  • HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. FOR HIS NAME SAKE, not yours.
  • BE A LIVING SACRIFICE.
  • HATE WHAT IS EVIL, LOVE WHAT IS HOLY.

All these things are done for and by Christ in us. For apart from Him we can do NOTHING.

SOLI DEO GLORIA.
