4 Reasons to join a Christian Book Club

Here are 4 reasons I am encouraging you ladies to join a Christian book club. Yes, I have my own and would LOVE for you to join but any in your area or online that you think would be a good match is what I hope you say YES to.

1. WE ARE FRYING OUR BRAINS WITH SCREENS.

Ladies, screens are sucking life away from us in ways of our time, our attention, and even our souls (in the sense that what we’re watching can be so so sinful.)

Reading books is what people have been doing for centuries before technology has swarmed our lives. It is absolutely doable to keep the TV off and get lost in a wonderfully creative and God honoring book.

This new year, I want us all to be women of the WORD first and mostly but let us also stop being slaves to media and get in a book.

2. BOOKS CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT OF SOLITUDE AND QUIET.

Following point 1, reading is so nice because it invites stillness. We need some more quiet in our lives ladies. Our lives can be so so noisy, busy, and overwhelming. Reading provides a quiet time for your body, your brain, and your environment. Have your children read while you do. This will be good for everyone in the family.

3. YOU’RE CONNECTING WITH OTHER CHRISTIAN WOMEN OVER FUN, GODLY, AND DEEPER CONTENT.

I love online community. True and solid friendships have grown from once being strangers on the internet.

Joining a Christian book club is a great way to connect and be apart of a community of like-minded women.

4. YOU’RE SUPPORTING CHRISTIAN AUTHORS.

I may be a little biased (my mom and sister are both professional Christian authors) but Christian authors need our support. I am so grateful that Godly men and women use their creativity for God’s glory.

We should be supporting their works and then we both win, them by support and us by enjoying their words.

We will be reading one book a month and so you will definitely have the time to get your reading in. In the fb group there will be weekly posts on our readings, giveaways, conversations, and fun.

This is the first book we are reading for 2022 book club. It is a Christian Historical Fiction Novel. I am a huge fan of it, not only because it is one of my Mother’s books but because it is sooooo good!

Ladies, we need to be women who fill our time with GOOD THINGS. There is nothing wrong with taking some time for leisure activities. May we choose things that are edifying, encouraging, imaginative, and glorifying to our Lord Jesus Christ.
