It’s no secret that I LOVE planning. I even have a FB group with other Christian women who share planning tips and encouragement.
One way that I have learned to use planning as a way to serve the Lord with my time is by bullet journaling.
Think of bullet journaling like a mix of brain dumping, outlining, doodling, and organizing all on one white space. I love it. I actually get excited thinking about it. lol.
I use a weekly planner spread to be able to see my week and even month at a glance, however I use bullet journaling EVERY SINGLE DAY.
This is what one of my days may look like. I write down what’s important to do and get done, things to remember, and even a routine to keep myself on track with my goals.
One of the great things about bullet journaling is that you can write quickly and in a form of your own “shorthand.” Words like codes but that you understand. For example: “Jill did you: social media” means, “did you remember to cover all your social media accounts – posting and checking emails.”
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” – Colossians 3:23
So how is using bullet journaling something to do unto the Lord?
The Lord has been so kind and gracious to gift us the ability to be organized women. The Lord Himself is not a (the) God of chaos but of ORDER. Being women of order reflects an aspect of His character.
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” – 1 Corinthians 14:33
I have seen my family thrive the more I have stopped being lazy (repenting of my laziness) and becoming more and more disciplined in the areas of organization.
When we work to serve our families well and doing it for God’s glory – it’s worship.
Bullet journaling is a wonderful, fun, and easy way to get all your thoughts and “to-dos” on paper. It will keep you on track and in line with your goals and things that need and must get done.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether we are single, married, mothers – if you have a space where you live then you are a Homemaker. You manage your life.
Well, let’s be clear – we can plan and plan and plan but it is the LORD alone who is Sovereign and in control.
“And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” – Colossians 1:17
He has given us working brains and bodies to serve Him WELL and I want to encourage you ladies to do whatever you can to manage your households, your families well.
Bullet journaling is easy and again, fun!
You don’t need a nice planner or expensive notebooks. You can go to the Dollar Tree and buy a composition notebook and use it.
If you haven’t used bullet journaling then I encourage you to TRY it. Be consistent and don’t give up just after a few days. Keep at it. See how things change and work. Adjust how it works best for you.
But most importantly, do it for the LORD’s glory.
