Is anyone already feeling offended? lol. I don’t want to offend but I do want to talk about femininity. BIBLICAL FEMININITY.
We need to strip away the fact that we live in 2021 and in very liberal societies. We need to remove ourselves from the history of “feminism” and “how far women have come.” These things do not trump the Bible. These things do not re-write the Bible. The Bible does not submit to the changing times and the culture we live in. No. ALLLLLL THESE THINGS MUST TAKE A HUMBLE KNEE TO CHRIST AND HIS WORD.
Feminism is a cancer. It starts allll the way in Genesis when God tells Eve that she will desire to be in the place of her husband but that he will rule over her. It was not by coincidence that satan went to Eve and not Adam.
Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you (Genesis 3:16, ESV).
The Lord has always had it in His order and design for women to submit. The world has taken SUBMISSION and made it equal to SLAVERY. It isn’t. So many young girls are taught that submission is evil, archaic, and abusive.
God says that children – boys and girls – are to be obedient to their PARENTS. This is submission. If a girl becomes a wife, she then is commanded to be obedient to her husband. And she is ALWAYS commanded to obey and submit to CHRIST.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” – Ephesians 6:1
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:22-24
SUBMISSION IS GOOD; to believe it is not good would be to say that GOD is not good. If you believe that then there are bigger issues to cover than femininity.
A Godly man wants a feminine wife who will SUBMIT.
A Godly man wants a wife who is going to be obedient to the Lord and wives are continually instructed to be submissive to their husbands in everything. This is part of being feminine – not the act of submission but SUBMITTING to your HUSBAND.
It takes a Godly woman to know that her role in a marriage, in a family, and in the church is what GOD has established for her and not what the world wants for women and not what the flesh wants for women.
A Godly man wants a feminine wife who has a gentle and quiet spirit.
This does not mean that you have to be a wallflower, never speaking or laughing, have a vanilla personality, and be boring. I know my Jacob would never want me to stop laughing as loudly as I do, have the ability to be silly and playful, and to not be expressive when I talk about things I am passionate about.
Having a gentle and quiet spirit is FEMININE in the fact that God says in His Word that this is where our beauty as women should come from – within and that having this kind of spirit is of GREAT WORTH to the Lord.
“Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” – 1 Peter 3
Godly men want to know their wives aren’t going to make scenes, seek to be the center of attention, be foolish with their opinions and thoughts, speaking without sense, overrule her husband (in public or in private), defy their husbands, and to be unteachable.
A Godly man wants a woman who acts and looks like a WOMAN.
Let’s take our “easily offended” hat off and just be real please.
Think about the type of women who practice homosexuality and are radical feminists. They are mostly (not all but mostly) masculine in dress and in characteristics, mannerisms, style.
They have their hair very short, they despise dresses (even bras), their mannerisms are not gentle but more harsh, and they even speak “like a guy.”
I am not going to sugarcoat truth. The LORD hates these things. A woman having short hair for style reasons or for illness reasons is not a sin but to purposefully have short hair to NOT be feminine is wicked.
“A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” – Deuteronomy 22:5
Women not wearing dresses and having their hair long is still fairly new. Throughout history women were EXTREMELY feminine in style and fashion. With the rise of feminism went out the desire to look womanly and display this in style: clothes and hair.
“but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.” – 1 Corinthians 11:15
Long hair for a woman is feminine. Not every man in the world who loves the Lord is going to say he prefers his wife to have long hair but I would wager MOST do. Our hair is our glory and our long hair was blessed to us by the Lord, something not given to men unless they were a Nazarite.
I sincerely believe that a woman who seeks to be feminine in her style of hair and dress is God honoring. The Lord cares that we look like WOMEN, not like MEN. To go above and beyond to make it evident that we ARE women (especially in today’s culture) is an act of worship.
This is one reason why all the females in our home now wear dresses and have, for the most part, ditched the pants.
Ladies, this isn’t AT ALL being legalistic. I have shared God’s Word and how these are COMMANDMENTS. I encourage you to seek His Word on these issues and submit to it. The world will think you ridiculous and even “progressive Christians” will insult and mock you BUT we don’t live for man but for GOD!
A Godly man will want a feminine wife: in character, in action, and in heart – which will be displayed in her mannerisms and choice of fashion/style.
May we serve and love God – only and forever for HIS GLORY.
