Hello friends! I finally got my laptop (ordered a brand new one) and have been so positively anxious to update you all on my progress and journey.

It’s been officially 9 weeks since I began Intermittent Fasting as a way to implement self-control with my food. Remember, it all began when I repented of having a food idol and knew I needed to start practicing some major discipline.

I honestly cannot believe I can even say “Week 9 Update.” I am a runner ladies. Wait. I WAS a runner and not in the cardio way. I would run from hard things but I am seeing more as the days go by that I am so very capable of doing hard things. So what’s been going on?


We had friends in town and I enjoyed food with my friend but was proud that I did not enter a binge. We had so much fun together. Catching up and going antique shopping. We took the kids to the Zoo and played cards. It was great.

Have you heard of this? It’s a challenge that lasts for 75 days total. It’s definitely one that will be physically beneficial but the challenge is a mental one. Here’s the criteria for the 75 days:

  1. Drink 1 gallon of water a day.
  2. Workout two times for 45 min. (one being outdoors)
  3. Take a progress photo daily.
  4. Stick to a nutritional plan. (no cheat days)
  5. Read 10 pages of a Non-Fiction book. (no audio books)

It’s going well. Tomorrow will be my day 10. The hardest part has been getting the water in but it really is getting easier. I’ll be sure to update you as the weeks go on.

The most asked question I get is “WHAT ARE YOU EATING!?”

I have to say it almost daily: I AM NOT DIETING but I am choosing healthier options and not binging anymore. That with the Intermittent Fasting, exercise, and water is what has contributed or caused my weight loss.

Cooking has become one of my FAVORITE things to do. Who ever would have thought! When I say theres been BIG changes since repenting. It’s not just my body – it’s my life.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
    he refreshes my soul.

Even just copy + pasting that has made me teary. This passage has always been kinda cliche to me because I grew up hearing it over and over. It’s one of the most popular passages in Scripture but it was recently that it’s become incredibly dear to me.

I repeat it all throughout the day. I am so grateful for Jesus and how He is our Good Shepherd. I love that it says He MAKES me lie down. Because y’all, remember I told you, I am a runner. I run from pain, from discomfort, from conflict, from hard things, and even from God. And I have been learning to just STOP and be still. He MAKES me lie down in green pastures and He restores my soul. OH YES. Gosh, He is so wonderful.

I think having a passage to have in your heart to meditate on during the day is really important when going through big changes like breaking addiction.


So as of the beginning of this year to now I have lost 33.2 pounds. 🙂

  2. This is very motivating and your transformation so far is incredible! I just had my second baby and have the biggest tummy pudge ever… no clothes I have fit me. The t-shirts I bought yesterday are too tight even though they are a larger size than what I used to wear. People are telling me to relax but I keep thinking that having a baby is no excuse for being so out of shape. Despite what people are telling me, my heart is saying that I cannot relax and need to do something about it.

    Even though I’m not doing #75hard, I am just starting with the 1 gallon of water. I don’t even drink 8 cups of water a day so this alone is a challenge for me, but I know that water has so many benefits! My diet isn’t perfect but it’s not terrible – I do cheat though which I’m hoping to curb with the water. Eventually I hope to cut out the junk entirely.
